REPORT ON INTERN TEACHING SESSION
Topic: Review of Asthikshaya
A teaching and review session on Asthikshaya was conducted for the interns on 16th September 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM in the Department of Kayachikitsa.
The interns were advised to review the topic of Asthikshaya with the help of relevant scientific articles and clinical case sheets. During the session, a clinical case was discussed in detail along with its corresponding case sheet. The discussion included the etiological factors, pathogenesis, signs and symptoms, and treatment protocols of osteoporosis, osteopenia, and osteomalacia.
The Ayurvedic perspective of Asthikshaya was also discussed, covering Nidana, Samprapti, Lakshana, and Chikitsa, with emphasis on correlating the Ayurvedicconcepts with the clinical features of osteoporosis and related bone disorders.
