REPORT ON BMD TEST AS PART OF Ph.D CLINICAL RESEARCH WORK

A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Test Camp was successfully conducted on 10th August 2026 at KPSVS Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, H. Manvi, as part of the PhD research clinical work of Dr. Sharanamma, Associate Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa.

The camp aimed to assess bone mineral density and create awareness regarding osteopenia, osteoporosis, calcium deficiency, and maintenance of bone health. Eligible patients and participants were identified and referred from the hospital departments, including the Casualty/Emergency Department.

A total of 171 participants attended the BMD camp. BMD screening was carried out, and participants were provided appropriate guidance regarding their results, dietary measures, physical activity, sunlight exposure, and preventive measures for maintaining bone health.

The camp received good participation and was successfully completed with the active cooperation of the Principal, teaching staff, doctors, interns, hospital staff, and other supporting personnel.

The data collected during the camp will be utilized for further clinical assessment and analysis related to the PhD research work.
