Agada Tantra is one of the Ashtanga of Ayurveda, which deals with identification, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various Visha conditions and Vidhi Vaidyaka i.e Medical jurisprudence which involves the study and application of medical knowledge in the legal field. This branch enlightens the knowledge to Students about sources (Plants,Animals), Properties, Actions, signs and symptoms ,toxicity diagnosis, Fatal dose, Fatal period and management in relation to Toxins (Visha).
The students are made expertise in identifying the poisonous drugs, differentiating the animal poisons and their toxic effects. The academics conduct postings to observe the legal proceedings and post- mortem procedures.
Dr. Sunitha.G currently working as Professor and HOD in the department of Agada Tantra Evam Vidhi Vaidyaka at Kalmathada Pujya Shri Virupaksha Shivacharya Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital,Manvi.
