Department of Moulika siddhanta acts as the basic department imparting the knowledge and understanding of texts on Ayurveda. It deals with Sanskrit, the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, history of Ayurveda, interprets philosophical aspects (Padartha vijnana) and Samhitas like Charaka Samhita, sushrutha Samhita and astanga hridaya. Samhita is the nodal point for the Astangas of Ayurveda the Department deals with in depth study of Samhitas.
Sanskrit language helps the students to understand the original Ayurvedic concepts. Accurate knowledge of samhitas helps in enhancing clinical skills there by enabling to be better physicians.
